Dr. Dharia has over 30+ years of direct experience in new plastics/ polymer product/process R & D, market research and analysis, product & project management, and commercialization with over 24 technical publications, 20 issued patents, and more than 30 disclosures of inventions.
His industrial and professional experience covers a wide range of plastic materials, additives, processing techniques, mixing theories and practice, material testing and characterization methods, failure analysis, product design, experimental designs in mfg. environment, simulation and numerical modeling, scale-ups, and structure-property-application relationships. He combines his strong theoretical base with long term hands-on experience in solving problems to produce practical solutions. He is conversant to work with people at any level, from floor level technicians to CTO/CEO of companies with equal enthusiasm.
After working with various organizations in USA, at the age of 41 he founded Transmit Technology Group, LLC in 1999 to allow him to freely explore his own ideas, and to help those who needed technical help. He calls his lab his second home. Since 1999 he has helped several clients in conceptualizing, exploring through experimentation, and screening best and novel alternatives, in connecting and coordinating external resources to drive concepts to commercialization. During 1999-2014, he has been named inventor or co-inventor on six US and international patents and is named a co-inventor on two pending applications. In 2006 he develop a novel testing equipment Technoform, to determine the thermoformabiltiy of thermoplastics materials. Technoform has been used in over 80 industrial projects related to thermoforming.
Dr. Dharia cares deeply about education and enjoys interacting and mentoring students. He volunteered as an adjunct faculty for the Materials Science and Engineering Department of UNT, Denton, TX from 2007 to 2010 and was an active member of several MS and Ph.D. dissertation committees. He has also volunteered as a judge for local school Science Fairs. Dr. Dharia is passionate about new technology and the intellectual property scene. He obtained his USPTO Patent agent registration in 2005 and continues to help clients in the patentability area.
