Contamination in Thermoplastic Vulcanizate (TPV)

An injection molded black TPV part had randomly embedded white inclusions. Isolated white contaminants were soft and elastomeric. Upon testing, DSC indicated it was not EPR or EPDM. ATR further showed it to be silicone rubber. The customer confirmed that a different silicon sealant was used to seal the die.
